The Design Story
This JBR renovation began as a two-bedroom apartment and was reconfigured into a three-bedroom, multi-level home — the scope stretched the existing footprint and rebuilt the layout around a sculptural, cantilevered staircase in solid wood. Each tread is edge-lit with warm LED strips and set behind a frameless glass balustrade, turning what's usually a purely functional element into the apartment's centerpiece. Herringbone parquet flooring runs continuously through the double-height living and dining space below, where a soft taupe sectional and dining set sit beneath a dual-ring pendant light. The media wall is finished in a book-matched stone panel with a raw natural-stone feature pillar beside it, and a backlit display shelf — styled with a rotating collection of sculptural ceramic vases — brings texture to the opposite wall. Upstairs, the bedrooms carry the same restrained, neutral palette: upholstered headboards against dual-tone ribbed and painted panel walls, full-height mirrored wardrobes, and warm cove lighting recessed into the ceiling line. The ensuite continues the material story with a stone-clad wet room and a freestanding oval soaking tub set beneath a backlit display niche. Custom joinery and a considered material palette of parquet, natural stone and soft upholstery run through every level of the home.
