Jumeirah Island Villa

The Design Story

Set on a private plot on Jumeirah Islands, this villa renovation pairs the property's Mediterranean-style architecture — arched black-steel windows and doors, terracotta roofline — with a bright, contemporary interior built around water and skyline views on every side. The rear elevation opens onto a private pool and lawn, while a full-height arched window in the formal seating area frames an uninterrupted view across the lake to the Dubai Marina skyline. Structural updates opened the ground floor into one continuous space, connected top to bottom by a solid walnut staircase with integrated step lighting and a frameless glass balustrade. Overhead, a series of statement chandeliers — layered capiz-shell and glass-bead fixtures — anchor the double-height living and dining areas, paired with tufted cream sofas, a curved blue velvet sectional, and glossy stone-look porcelain flooring throughout. The kitchen carries the same warm, layered material palette: white subway tile, a run of glass pendant lights over an oak breakfast bar, and tall wood-veneer cabinetry that echoes the staircase finish. A powder room off the entry continues the villa's material story with a dramatic black-and-white marble slab feature wall beneath an arched window. Custom joinery, bespoke lighting and a considered material palette turn what was a dated villa shell into a home built to make the most of its Jumeirah Islands plot.
